Kris Pannecoucke is a documentary photographer and filmmaker based between Antwerp, Belgium, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he was born and has spent much of the past decade working.
His work explores the people, cultures and social realities of contemporary Africa, with a particular focus on the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In 2017, he published his first photobook, 'Fleuve Congo River', with Picha Publishing. Following the Congo River as a journey through the heart of the country, the book offers a portrait of contemporary Congo. The edition is now sold out. 
His photography has been published internationally in The Guardian, National Geographic, GEO, Internazionale, L’Obs, De Volkskrant and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, among others.

Alongside his independent projects, he works on commissioned documentaries, photography and visual storytelling for international organisations and editorial publications. More recently, he produced 'Alliance Verte', a commissioned photobook for the Delegation of the European Union to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

His documentary filmmaking includes a film on financial inclusion in Congo, broadcast by the Franco-German television network ARTE.
